It’s easy to get bogged down by deadlines, word counts, and pesky little details that just won’t seem to iron themselves out, Lord. It’s also easy for me to become so fixated on the doing of a thing that I forget that writing is something you created for our enjoyment as much as for our edification.

Help me rediscover that joy today as I rest and re-center my focus. I don’t ever want to get so busy that I lose sight of the beauty found just outside my window. Speak to my soul and refresh my spirit as I take this moment to stand still and consider the wondrous works of my Father.
And then, when it’s time to sit down and return to my work, may it be with a renewed enthusiasm that shines through each word.
