Thank you for the Storytellers

My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe. (Psalm 45:1, ESV)

Lord,

Thank you for the story tellers of the world and for the way they enable us to see the world from different view points. Thank you for the way they challenge us as readers and as listeners; for the way the inspire us and cause us to think of others for a moment instead of being solely focused on ourselves. I hope that one day my stories will do the same.

You have given me an incredible gift and an amazing responsibility as a writer. Youā€™ve created in my soul a passion for letters and punctuation, exclamations and questions, of examining love and rejection, healing and heart, faith and doubt, victory and defeat.

May each word I pen today bring honor to You and encouragement for others rather than seeking glory for myself. I pray that just as my heart has been stirred by Your majesty, others will one day be touched by the beauty of your mercy and grace that has woven itself into each tale I pen.
