Write Your Novel!

Have you purchased your copy of Go Teen Writer’s Write Your Novel yet?

I’m about halfway through it, and I cannot begin to tell you just how helpful it’s been for re-igniting my excitement for writing and sharing fiction that has a soul to it. You know the kind of story I’m talking about—the ones that stick with you long after the book is finished. Books like The Lord of the Rings, The Book Thief, The Lunar Chronicles

I’ll be honest, half the time I read a book on writing, I jump around and pick and choose what I want to work on at that moment. While there’s nothing wrong with that, I don’t always get the full impact of what the author is trying to teach as a result.

It’s been completely different with Write Your Novel.

Not only have I kept a highlighter with me, I’ve kept a notebook. Each time I finish a section of a chapter, I write down some ideas inspired by what’s worked for Stephanie, Jill, and Shannon, and how I can apply them to my current WIP—which is still in very raw form.

I’ve read it early in the morning. I’ve read it during tea breaks in the afternoon. I’ve even read it before bed. In fact, I was reading it just before I sat down to write this note to you!

The thing I love the most about Write Your Novel is that it feels like I’m sitting at a coffee table with these ladies and having a casual conversation. They have a lot of wisdom to share and they do so with humor and encouragement that is effective for writers of all ages. (Though I will also admit that every time I pick the book out, it makes me miss both Jill and Shannon, who I’m blessed to call friends in life and whom I haven’t seen in way too long!)

I’m giving away a copy to one subscriber to The Writer’s Wellspring monthly newsletter!

Back in December, I shared that I’d purchased two copies of Write Your Novel. One, because I wanted to support this amazing team of writers who are doing a fantastic job introducing teens to the joys of writing, and two, because I wanted a tangible way to help support another writer in my writing community. I may not be completely finished reading the book yet, but I have no doubt it will do just that. And by the time I’m done with it myself, I know I’ll be well on my way to having my own WIP written in a way that I’m both proud of and confident in.

So, who is the lucky writer who’ll receive my second copy? Well, it could be you!

My February newsletter is scheduled to go out on Monday, February 1st, and in it I’ll announce one newsletter subscriber—selected at random—who I’ll be sending the book to. Because of postage costs, I can only ship to US or Canadian addresses at this time, but I do hope to find a way to include any international newsletter subscribers in the future.

If you’re not already a subscriber to my monthly newsletter, just fill out the form below this post (or click here if you don’t see the subscribe box) and look for the confirmation email. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder or send me an email, and I’ll manually confirm you’re signed up.

Want to get your hands on a copy of the book without signing up with my newsletter? Be sure to visit Go Teen Writers to find links to the online shops you can order from!

Disclaimer: This giveaway is not affiliated with Go Teen Writers, Stephanie Morrill, Jill Williamson, or Shannon Dittemore in any way. This is something I am doing on my own, at my own expense. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Write boldly and with courage, my friend!
